Hecksher, a logistics provider in the Nordics, has officially expanded into the Polish market, reinforcing its position in the European logistics sector. Poland’s strategic location—connecting Western Europe with the rapidly growing markets of Central and Eastern Europe—makes it an ideal logistics hub. With continuous investments in road and rail infrastructure, Poland has significantly improved connectivity and efficiency, supporting the ongoing shift from offshoring to nearshoring within Europe. This expansion enables Hecksher to enhance its regional presence and offer logistics solutions tailored to the Polish and European markets.

Strengthening freight and distribution operations in Poland

To establish a solid operational base, Hecksher has opened two new offices in Poland, with an initial team of approximately ten employees and plans for further expansion throughout the year.

The Gdynia office is strategically positioned to oversee ocean freight and road transport, facilitating seamless trade between Scandinavia, Poland, and the rest of Europe. Initially, operations will focus on road freight, with a dedicated fleet of trailers forming the foundation of the service.

Additionally, a new warehouse in Karpin, near Warsaw, will serve as a regional distribution center and accommodate Hecksher’s freight forwarding operations. The 6,500 sqm facility is already operating at 70% capacity, with room for further growth and new business opportunities.

To establish and grow its operations in Poland, Hecksher has expanded the team with key recruitments, including Ewa Osowska, who joins as Business Development Director.

"Poland’s strategic location makes it a crucial market for Hecksher, allowing us to strengthen our connections between Scandinavia and Europe. Our team is fully prepared to support customers with road, ocean, air, and warehousing solutions, ensuring efficient logistics operations. We are excited to build strong partnerships and expand our capabilities in the region."

said Ewa Osowska, Business Development Director, Hecksher Poland.

Expanding its road freight network/ Expanding road freight capabilities in Poland and beyond

Hecksher’s expansion into Poland is further strengthened by the recent acquisition of TCT in Trelleborg, Sweden, enhancing the company’s road freight network. This strategic move increases operational synergies, improves efficiency, and broadens growth opportunities, allowing Hecksher to offer even more logistics solutions across Europe.

„Entering the Polish market is a natural step in strengthening Hecksher’s European logistics network. With enhanced road freight services and a new distribution center, we are well-positioned to meet the increasing demand for regional logistics. I am pleased with our strong start in 2025 and look forward to further expanding our presence in Poland and beyond."
